Garden, Manor by the Lake
The Manor by the Lake was originally called Arle Court and built in the 1850s by Thomas Walter Packer Butt, replacing a nearby older house. It was bought by Mr George Dowty in 1935 and later converted into offices at the heart of an industrial centre producing the Dowty Group's products. Today it is surrounded by attractive gardens and boasts ornate fireplaces and interior woodwork. It is used as a wedding venue. The house and parts of the gardens are listed.
