Cheltenham buildings [112]
Numbers 16 and 17 Ormond Terrace in Regent Street are two terraced houses now a dental surgery and flats. Built circa 1837 of stuccoed brick with a concealed roof and iron railings. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1387767
Cheltenham is located at the foot of the Cotswold scarp with the small River Chelt flowing through the town. After the discovery of mineral springs in 1716 Cheltenham became a spa town and many Regency houses and other buildings were erected. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, four days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at the nearby racecourse.

This terrace of three houses, numbers 102, 104 and 106 Promenade, is now shops with projecting shopfronts. Built circa 1830 with the shopfronts added between 1930 and 1960. Built circa 1827, Paris House, even numbers 108 to 118 Promenade, was a boarding house in 1845. Converted to shops between 1876 and 1899 with the fronts projecting and with some later alterations. Neptune's Fountain, Cheltenham
At the southern end of the Municipal Office Gardens on the Promenade in Cheltenham is Neptune's Fountain which was designed by Joseph Hall, and constructed by R.L. Boulton and Sons in 1892-3. The statue shows Neptune, the god of water, holding a trident as a symbol of his power over the sea. The fountain draws water from the River Chelt which flows below the fountain through a large culvert.
