Honeythorn Close, Hempsted
The 1:50000 map for the square is out of date in various ways (for example, showing a chapel which does not appear on the larger scale map). Honeythorn Close however has remained unchanged. Hempsted still retains a village feel, particularly along Hempsted Lane off which Honeythorn Close runs, despite its proximity to Gloucester.

Fields, Hempsted
Hempsted can still identify itself as a village, thanks to fields such as these which separate it from the city of Gloucester, whose cathedral can be seen on the left.

Lady Well, Hempsted
The structure is thought to be 14th century, and connected with Llanthony Priory, it lies a short distance across the fields from Hempsted church.
It has also been a place of pilgrimage, it is said the Mother of Christ, the Virgin Mary set foot here, and a spring arose to quench her thirst.
