Former timber ponds, Gloucester & Sharpness Canal
This woodland, soon to be a public open space, was once shallow ponds where timber floated until it was sold on. The tiny inlet at the near end of the woods was the ponds' entrance. Taken from the trip boat, Queen Boadicea II.

Old mill chimney, Gloucester
Nowadays this yard is home to a huddle of small industrial units, one of which employs me to supply biscuits and coffee to a small team of fork lift drivers during the night shift. Well, I'm supposed to be their manager, but I think I'm more usefully employed operating the espresso maker. Anyway, this chimney and adjoining building is no longer used for anything. There are persistent rumours that this entire estate will be sold and developed for housing, so I thought I'd get some pictures after work one morning, before it all changes.
