For no obvious reason, the B4008, named Bristol Road through most of Hardwicke, is here named Bath Road. Both cities are far to the south.

The Old Cross Keys, Hardwicke
The former pub, which closed in 2008, is now a motor trade outlet that specialises in wheelchair access vehicles. According to http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=15814 , the building was in existence by 1831. Its name lives on in the nearby roundabout.
