Former mill, The Docks, Gloucester (1)
Beyond the (then) restoration zone. Formerly Foster's Oil and Cake Mill, by George Hunt, 1862, but greatly extended in 1891-93 by W.B. Wood. Grade II listed. Despite being listed, it since appears to have been demolished for flats - the end walls have either been preserved or rebuilt in replica.

Derelict mills, Gloucester
I believe these were grain or animal feed mills by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. It looks like they are for demolition or adaptive reuse in the near future. The new bridge across the canal is seen left background. The viewpoint was from a new multistorey car park that is part of the Gloucester Quays development.

Derelict warehouse, Baker's Wharf, Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, Gloucester
This is Llanthony Provender Mill dating from the halcyon days of 1862. Listed Grade II since 1973 http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=472348 it will presumably be restored at some time in the future. For the moment it is the domain of feral pigeons and seagulls. The white structure at the extreme upper right is the top of a new bascule bridge http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1081145

Foster Brothers Oil & Cake Mill
Thomas Nelson Foster and his brother Richard Gibbs Foster established an oilseed crushing mill on Bakers Quay in 1862, and the mill continued to be managed by three generations of the Foster family until 1945. In the early 1950s, BOCM installed a big new oil extraction plant at Avonmouth, using a continuous process rather than the previous batch operations. This led to the closure of the mill at Gloucester c1955, and the building was later sold to West Midlands Farmers.
