Bare tree in early May 2013, Bream
Viewed from Coleford Road on May 6th 2013. The tree is on the west side of St James Church. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3816657 Although the absence of leaves could be caused by disease, it's more likely to be a consequence of the exceptionally cold March 2013, in some places the coldest March since 1962. An unusual feature of the temperatures in March 2013 was that the coldest weather occurred during the last 10 days of the month, despite lengthening days and increasing height of the noonday sun. The arrival of spring growing conditions was several weeks later than average.

SW corner of St James Church, Bream
The church is alongside the B4231 Coleford Road. The church's website states that after a fire in the 1980s, the inside of the church was restructured and now provides an open, welcoming and flexible worship space. There are no pews and the seating is easily movable. There is central heating, a kitchen, toilets, a vestry, a soundproofed crèche and a large upstairs meeting room. There is a sound system with a hearing aid loop and a computer projection system for displaying songs, liturgy, Power Point presentations and DVDs.
