Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, Sharpness
This is where the canal used to enter the Severn through a disused lock alongside the white house that is now home to the Sharpness station of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA). There is now a new alignment behind the photographer and I believe boats no longer have access to this area.

Dock master's house at Sharpness Docks
I'd love to live here: it has the most amazing view along the Severn Estuary. Mind you, I imagine it's pretty bleak when the weather gets down and dirty. Anyway, this was once the home of the Sharpness dock master. Since 1986 it has been the base of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), who do all sorts of sterling work rescuing people from water - based peril. Taken on film, through the mist, with a slightly malfunctioning Voigtlander Bessamatic!

The former Harbour Master's house
The house is next to the former tidal basin and old entrance to the River Severn at the Sharpness Old Dock, the old entrance ceased being used in 1908.
The house is now the base of the Severn Area Rescue Association, an independent marine and land based search and rescue organisation, it currently operates from six stations.
