A striking effort by Shingler Risdon Associates, 1968. "Angled steel-mullioned windows alternate with ribbed granite aggregate panels, their butterfly-splayed tops flanking Corbusian concrete rainwater chutes".

High arch
The Greyfriars established a religious building here in the thirteenth century, which was extensively rebuilt in about 1518. This was largely due to the financial support of the local Berkeley family; that latter also held Berkeley Castle, some 16 miles to the south.
