The Church of St Michael and All Angels
The present church, dedicated to St Michael and All Angels, was consecrated in 1868. John Logie Baird
John Logie Baird was an engineer and inventor who was a native of Helensburgh. His most notable achievement was to be the first person to demonstrate a working television system. This bust of Baird, by Donald Gilbert in 1943, stands on The Promenade at Helensburgh.
