John Logie Baird, on the Promenade, Helensburgh
Sculpture of the Helensburgh-born engineer (1888-1946), one of the inventors of the television, and demonstrator of the first working television system in 1926. The bust was made by Donald Gilbert in 1943.

John Logie Baird
John Logie Baird was an engineer and inventor who was a native of Helensburgh. His most notable achievement was to be the first person to demonstrate a working television system. This bust of Baird, by Donald Gilbert in 1943, stands on The Promenade at Helensburgh.
