The building beside the entrance is now a private house, but it was formerly the south lodge associated with Image (itself just an ornate house); the lodge was rebuilt in the 1920s. See also Image Compare the corresponding Image The road that is visible in the foreground changes its name at this point, and is called Balloch Road to the left, and Drymen Road to the right.

Centenary plaque at Balloch Park
The plaque is beside the park's south entrance, as shown in Image For further context, see Image The text is legible in the picture, but is given here to make it easier to locate through Internet searches: "1916–2016 / This plaque commemorates the centenary of the opening of Balloch Castle Country Park / Unveiled by Provost Douglas McAllister / July 2016" (It was in fact unveiled shortly before July 2016: the present picture was taken on the 1st of July, after I had already seen pictures of the unveiling ceremony in local newspapers.)
