Properties on Kirk Road
The nearest building is 8 and 8A Kirk Road. According to the Carmunnock Heritage Trail plaque: 'This 18th century tenement, with its nepus gable is said to rest on 14th century foundations. From early times, detachments of soldiers were sometimes billeted here. The building, which contained a shop until the 1940s, was refurbished in 1984.' Date plaque
A plaque dated 1793 and 1974 in the wall of 2 and 4 Kirk Road Image Presumably inserted when alterations were made to the building. The design shows two couples - from the 1790s and 1970s - and a cat!
