The Old Schoolhouse
The Old Schoolhouse, Gilmour Street at the cross was built in 1640 and at one-time a sheriff's house. Later it became a schoolhouse which accommodated the dominie or master. The old school was next door, where the Coronation Buildings once stood.

Eaglesham Fair 2009
The Fair Queen and Usher lead the procession to the common green for the crowning of the Queen and opening of the 2009 Eaglesham Fair. The carriage is drawn by a magnificent pair of Clydesdale horses driven by Jimmy Steel of Jackton. Alexander, the eighth Earl of Eglinton, obtained for the inhabitants a charter for a weekly market and an annual fair in 1672. The fair was held on the last Thursday in August when horse-races took place. Nowadays the fair is held bi-annually in June.

Eaglesham Fingerpost
A fingerpost at the crossroads is a familiar sight and has been directing travellers to Glasgow, Kilmarnock, Strathaven and East Kilbride for many years. Old photographs show the fingerpost has been here for at least one hundred years although has been relocated from its original position at the other side of the crossroads. The post has a spherical boss finial; new fingers were cast and fitted to the post in recent years giving the sign a new lease of life. A similar fingerpost now long gone stood at the south-west corner of Newton Mearns cross. The Eaglesham fingerpost is probably the only remaining fingerpost in East Renfrewshire.
