Bell Craig and the Weary Tree
A stretch of Glasgow Road heading towards Eaglesham House is known locally as Bell Craig and takes its name from Bell Craig Croft, an arable field lying to the south of Laigh Borland. On top of a rock, overhanging the road, is the "Weary Tree". The tree was a landmark which passengers returning on the bus from Glasgow could see from a distance and would know that they were near to home.
