These cottages, possibly weavers' houses, in Montgomery Street are typical of the single storey cottages in Eaglesham. The steep pitched roofs indicate that they were once thatched. Rowanlea Cottage on the left (formerly two cottages tacked in 1791) has a door lintel inscribed with a horseshoe above a five-bar gate.

Lynn View, 77 Montgomery Street is a two-storey, symmetrical house. Painted stucco lined off as ashlar; segmented round-headed doorway and cill course running across the façade at first floor level. The building once contained a ground floor grocery shop and tea room.
