Blantyre Old Parish Church
The old church is the latest in a line of churches in the parish since the 12th. century. The church has recently received some remedial work on its magnificent spire in order to keep it in a safe condition.

Erected by the community of Blantyre to commemorate the centenary of the explosion at Dixon's No. 3 Pit on the 22nd of October 1877 in which over 200 men and boys were killed.
