Site of the old Blantyre Mill, River Clyde
A cluster of buildings from an early 19th-century textile mill on the south bank of the River Clyde to take advantage of the river's water power. The famous Victorian explorer and evangelist, David Livingstone, was born in a block of millworkers' housing built slightly higher up the slope from the one seen here.
