Hillhead Bridge, Forth & Clyde Canal
This swing bridge on the Forth & Clyde moves out of the way to let canal craft through, and a result of this means vehicles have to wait until the roadway is restored. Note the red lights flashing and the barriers lifting.

Control cabin, Hillhead Bridge
The bridge here is a swing bridge, which carries Hillhead Road over the Forth and Clyde Canal. It was built in the 1930s to replace an original drawbridge. The small building is the control cabin. Having fallen into disrepair it was restored and refurbished in 2000-2001 and is now operational again when required.
