Base of cast iron column
One of eleven cast iron columns used in the construction of part of the Oakwood Garden Centre. They are all clearly marked 'GRAHAMSTON I.C. FALKIRK'. They must have been salvaged from another building, but it's not clear where this was. Grahamston Iron Company was founded in 1868 by William Thomson Mitchell and traded in Falkirk until 1993/94 https://falkirklocalhistory.club/around-the-area/industry/ironfounding/a-brief-history-of-ironfounding-in-the-falkirk-area/grahamston-foundry/.
