Dougalston House
The house was demolished when the golf course was built - and it opened in 1976. My thanks to members for help finding this location. A Geograph member recalls visiting the caretakers, who had a flat in the top of the house, in the 1950s and says that some of the Burrell Collection was stored on the ground & 1st floors - all in dustsheets with the shutters firmly closed against light.

Dougalston Loch
The water is completely hidden by the foliage of all the greater reedmace (Typha latifolia) and other vegetation which is slowly infilling the loch. The loch and part of Dougalston Estate are designated as a Local Nature Conservation Site by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Dougalston Loch
Much of the loch is covered by vegetation, although there is still plenty of open water. This part is particularly clogged with the remains of last year's greater reedmace (Typha latifolia). The loch and part of Dougalston Estate are designated as a Local Nature Conservation Site by East Dunbartonshire Council. The houses in the background are on Bridgegait and Finlay Rise.

End of the loch
Much of Dougalston Loch is covered by vegetation, although there is still plenty of open water. The remains of last year's greater reedmace (Typha latifolia) are very obvious here. The loch and part of Dougalston Estate are designated as a Local Nature Conservation Site by East Dunbartonshire Council.
