Houses on Linnhead Drive, Old Nitshill
The area up to the houses was the site of Victoria Pit, an ironstone pit that operated from 1843 to 1920. The last owner was Wm Baird & Co Ltd who worked the pit from 1895 to 1920. Solar panels being repaired
The Catholic Church at the corner of Peat Road and Dunside Drive is dedicated to St Robert Bellarmine (1542-1621), a Jesuit priest. 120 solar panels were installed on the roof in 2012, but a couple were blown off by a winter storm in 2017, and have just been replaced.
