On the right is the category A listed Pearce Institute which has been at the heart of the Govan community since 1906. On the opposite side of the road is the statue to Sir William Pearce and behind the statue is Brechin's Bar which occupies the mock-baronial Cardell Hall built in 1894 as a centre for temperance workers!
