Glasgow's Finest
While I was taking some pictures on Cathcart Road in Glasgow near Hampden Park I spotted this fine group of mounted police. What I hadn't realised was that not only was there a game on at the park, it was the Scottish League Cup Final and 50,000 fans were about to be making their way home after the match. You can clearly see the need for the Strathclyde Mounted Branch on these big occasions to manage the crowds. http://www.strathclyde.police.uk/index.asp?locID=166&docID=-1

Lesser Hampden
The grounds of Queens Park Football Club. They are the only fully amateur club in the Scottish Professional leagues. Their ground is Lesser Hampden and has a small stand with about 300 seats which sits next to the national stadium Hampden Park. The amateur status is reflected by its Latin motto, 'Ludere Causa Ludendi' – 'To Play for the Sake of Playing'. It is said that the white building just behind the stand in the image is the oldest building in any football league in the UK to be still be in use by a football club.
