St Alphonsus Catholic Church
Presently decked out for the Commonwealth Games. Established in 1846, it is one of the oldest Catholic parishes in Glasgow. The present building was opened in 1905 and is the last by Peter Pugin, grandson of the great Victorian architect, A. W. Pugin. Surprisingly, no other church in Scotland is dedicated to the Neapolitan, St Alphonsus, known especially for his work amongst the poor,
