Lobey Dosser statue
The statue of Lobey Dosser, the brilliant cartoon creation of the late Bud Neill (1911 - 1970), situated at the corner of Woodlands Road and Woodlands Gate. Lobey Dosser was the Sheriff of Calton Creek, and shown in the photograph astride his trusty horse, El Fideldo, with his arch-enemy, the resident villain of Calton Creek, Rank Bajin seated behind him. Thanks to his vivid imagination and cartoonist's licence, Bud Neill drew El Fideldo with two legs, not four. This, then, is claimed to be the world's only bipedal equestrian statue !
