Coal Mining Monument in Cambuslang
I took this photo in 1983 and, to the best of my recollection, it was where I have indicated. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/domesday/dblock/GB-264000-660000/picture/1 places this monument in Cambuslang Industrial Estate in 1986 but it is no longer there. I think that it may have been replaced by Image which looks as if it has been built from parts of this monument.

M74 Bridge Site over the River Clyde
As suggested in Image, the scene at this point has now changed considerably with construction of the M74 bridge now well under way. The Clyde Walkway now makes a temporary loop around the construction site.
