Tollcross Park Baseball Field
I'm not sure if the mesh fencing to the left of the picture is used in actual baseball games, or whether it is just used for pitching and hitting practice. It is situated at the 'Home of the Glasgow Baseball Association', according to the notice attached to the mesh. Baseball is a very minor amateur sport in Scotland (along with the rest of the UK) with just ten senior teams competing in two divisions. It seems to be quite normal for one club to have more than one individual team (in British baseball anyway) and Tollcross is home to both Glasgow Comets and Glasgow Galaxy, who regularly compete against each other in Scotland's top league. This is known as the 'AAA League'; the lower league is called the 'A League'. I'm guessing this is Scottish baseball's best guess as to where the teams in their two leagues would feature in British Baseball's pyramid structure if they competed in it. The British and Scottish league names are based on those in America, where there is Major League Baseball (which is where all the big names play for the big teams) and Minor League Baseball. The top tiers of the US minor leagues are known as AAA, the second tiers as AA, and the third tiers as A.
