The Wincher's Stance
Quote from Jane_Elizabeth on Qype http://www.qype.co.uk/place/2526017-Winchers-Stance-Glasgow# : "The sculptor was John Clinch (1934-2001) - what a perfect surname for this work !!........The title comes from the Scots verb 'winch' which means to kiss and cuddle. The full name of 'Wincher's Stance' was selected from 600 suggestions submitted to the local paper, and came from a Miss Susan Richie who won a trip to Paris! The sculpture was unveiled by both John Clinch and Susan Richie in 1995 at the opening of the newly refurbished Bus Station."
