'Gaun Yersel' piano in Waterstones bookshop
A colourfully decorated piano for public use in the Sauchiehall Street branch of Waterstones, which is Scotland's largest book shop. 'Gaun Yersel' means 'go on yourself', or more accurately 'go for it'. The decoration depicts public pianos in various locations around the River Clyde in the city centre. The piano was placed here by Glasgow Piano City, which is a social enterprise, based on the south-side of the city, which aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation by increasing access to acoustic pianos. The notice on top of the piano requests users to wipe the keyboard with the provided spray and roll after use. Posibly due to coronavirus (covid-19) concerns. Links...
