Ted's Cafe and the Star & Garter
The cafe has been closed since December 2020. The profusion of Spanish flags outside the Star & Garter bar probably relates to the EUFA Euro 2024 final on 14th July between England and Spain. England lost.

Which way down?
You have a choice here. From beside the canal, do you take the steps on the left, or go down the slide to get down to Garscube Road at the bottom? There is also a gentle dog-legged ramp out of view to the right for easier access.

Steps up to the canal
The steps (or a gradual dog-legged ramp out of view to the left) give access to the Forth and Clyde Canal and the new Garscube Bridge over the canal to the Claypits Nature Reserve. The slide is an alternative way to get back down again.
