A Georgian square in the east end of the city, near Glasgow Cross. Home to St Andrew's Parish Church. The building on the left was built as a home for destitute children. It has been converted to flats and is Category B Listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB32749 .

St Andrew's in the Square, Glasgow
Looking across the nave towards the altar of the former church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6195221 . It was opened as a Presbyterian church in 1756, taking 17 years to complete. The church closed in 1993 and re-opened as a Centre for Traditional Scottish Music, Song and Dance in 2000.

The interior is very impressive and has been restored to its original elegance. Now Glasgow's Centre for Scottish Culture, promoting Scottish music, song and dance.
