This is my own first 'capture' of an EVIIIR postbox, a species rare enough to warrant Category B Listing http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB51529 . Looking rather tidier than when it was photographed in 2010 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2124787 .

Southpark House, Hillhead
Double villa constructed circa 1850 for William Govan Senior and William Govan Junior, Listed Category B http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB32907 . The listing states: “Southpark House is an unusual example of a double villa design, and a surviving early villa from the original residential development of Hillhead. The double design was developed to provide tow[n] houses for father and son William Govan. . . . The house was the last of the large villas to be built in Hillhead before the more intensive developments of terraces and tenements.” Now occupied by the University of Glasgow.
