Site of Kelvinbridge Railway Station
The station building straddled the line which entered a tunnel under Great Western Road just beyond this point. The station, which was on the Glasgow Central Railway line, closed to passengers in 1952. The line closed in 1964.

Kelvinbridge railway station (site), Glasgow
Opened in 1896 by the Glasgow Central Railway on the line from Newton to Maryhill and Dawsholm, this station closed to passengers in 1952 and completely in 1964. View north west towards Botanic Gardens and Maryhill, also Dawsholm, from the remains of one of the platforms. The street-level building had been above the bricked-up tunnel entrance, but was burned down in 1968.

Caledonian Mansions
The rear of the building which fronts onto Great Western Road. Built by the Caledonian Railway Company as an annex to their Central Station Hotel. Designed by James Miller https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Miller_(architect) . A railway line runs under the photographer and appears briefly behind the wall before disappearing into a long tunnel under Great Western Road. See also Image
