Fairhaven United Reformed Church
Fairhaven United Reformed Church is locally known as the "White Church". The congregation of Lytham Congregational Church put forward the idea of a new church in 1899 at Fairhaven on land leased by the Clifton family of Lytham Hall. Architects Briggs, Wolstenholme and Thornley of Blackburn won the contract. The church opened on October 17th 1912. Known locally as the White Church, Fairhaven United Reformed Church was built in built in 1904 and 1911, mostly using white faience, but the hall to the rear is of red brick. Its most striking feature is the tall octagonal minaret tower at the north-east corner. The White Church - or more officially Fairhaven United Reformed Church - is very visible from most parts of Fairhaven lake and the surrounding area. I once attended a wedding there, and can say that the inside is as grand as the outside. See also ... Image Image
