Passing Broadwater
These 'Progress twinsets' were conceived as an alternative to double-deck trams for moving large crowds.
This was a chartered trip, and may well be the last time one of these sets operated to Fleetwood.

Passing Broadwater
Princess Alice is the one 'Balloon' car to have been rebuilt to the original open-top condition.
This may well have been the last time that it ran to Fleetwood.

Waiting at Broadwater

Centenary class car No 641 southbound at Broadwater. The car is in Fleet livery, but with much advertising for Pricebusters.

Tram at Broadwater
Brush car No 622 slows to pick up a passenger for central Fleetwood. Note the thin roof boards for advertising which have now been fitted to the car - an improvement on the heavy illuminated boards previously used which were not doing the cars any good at all.

Tram at Broadwater
Car No 641 heads south from Broadwater, away from the camera. The crossover at this point is little used in modern times, but during the years of World War II was used regularly on Fleetwood Market days so that a local service could be provided between Fleetwood and Braodwater. Usually a 'Pantograph car of the series 167 to 176 was used for this service.
