The tram isn't the only way to get from Blackpool to Fleetwood
A service 14 bus turns the corner of Lord Street past St Peter's Church in the rather uninspired pale cream livery of the period. Blackpool Transport is one of only a small number of bus undertakings which is still owned by the local authority, although now as an arms-length company which has to be financially viable. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=2114547&displayclass=slide

Pocket Park
Pocket Park is on the corner of North Albert Street and Victoria Street. The site was originally a hardware shop, then a TSB bank and a temporary police station before being demolished. Permission was given in 1998 for the land to be used as public open space. In 2008 the Fielden Fleetwood Charity Trust purchased the land with support from Wyre Council. Brick planters are named after Fleetwood primary schools and pupils plant flowers in them each year. The sign on the lamppost reads "Please don't encourage pigeons and gulls into the park by feeding them. This can sometimes spoil the original idea of the garden which was to provide a peaceful place to sit for a while.

Corner of North Albert Street and Victoria Street
The building on the right hand corner bears an inscription E1902R which I presume means it is early Edwardian. On the Victoria Street side is an EIIR postbox FY7 44 Image
