Wimbourne Place
The former Palm Beach Hotel Image and the neighbouring Bourne Hotel are due to be converted into a new 131 room Hampton by Hilton.
Of five hotels on this part of the New South Promenade only the Waldorf Image on the left is still open.

Hotels on Blackpool New South Promenade
The large hotel on the right is The Waldorf, and the hotel on the far left is The Ocean Bay. The boarded up hotel in the middle was The New Kimberley. It was closed down by Blackpool Council in 2014 after being branded "A death trap".

Palm Beach Hotel
The Palm Beach Hotel on New South Promenade closed in 2009 but despite plans for a new 11-storey hotel on the site it remains in situ and open to the ravages of winter storms.

Picnic at Palm Beach
The Palm Beach Hotel closed in 2009 and has since been ravaged by storms Image and vandals. Even so on Bank Holiday Monday the abandoned entrance terrace was being used by a family as a picnic site. The man in the photograph was just clearing away the barbecue.
