Gateway arch, Bispham, near Blackpool
An illuminated arch stands at either end of Blackpool's promenade, above the roadway. The arch marks the starting point of Blackpool's Illuminations. This image looks northwards away from the Illuminations. The Illuminations are seasonal, being staged annually during the autumn months, but the arch (and its sister arch at Starr Gate, six miles to the south) are in situ all year round. The road along the promenade forms part of the route of the A584.
