Terraced Houses, Cocker Street
Very narrow, with no front gardens to speak of, and only small back yards leading into a narrow alleyway. William Henry Cocker was the first mayor of Blackpool, serving 1876-79 in his first of three appointments.

Semaphore signals at Blackpool North
The station throat seen from the end of platform 5/6, before electrification and modernisation work. The semaphore signals and signal box (seen in the distance) will disappear, to be replaced by LED (presumably) signals controlled from Manchester.
The track has already been lifted from platforms 7/8 (out of picture to the left).
Platforms 1/2 will be extended (out of picture to the right) to accommodate Pendolino trains (on direct services to London).

Blackpool North
On a quiet Friday in late October. Nothing like the scenes of massed holidaymakers arriving on the many summer weekend specials 60 years ago.
