The last day of trams on Dickson Road -1
Dickson Road was the last section of traditional street tramway in Blackpool. The terminus outside Blackpool North Station had been the traditional starting point of the route to Fleetwood – formerly the 'Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad' – and the service was operated by single-deck trams, latterly the railcoaches of the immediate pre-war period. Subsequently, as now, the Fleetwood service would run the length of the Promenade from Starr Gate. Here an inbound tram has just entered Dickson Road at Gynn Square with the Promenade just visible in the mist.
