The last day of trams on Dickson Road -4
Dickson Road was the last section of traditional street tramway in Blackpool. The terminus outside Blackpool North Station had been the traditional starting point of the route to Fleetwood – formerly the 'Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad' – and the service was operated by single-deck trams, latterly the railcoaches of the immediate pre-war period. Subsequently, as now, the Fleetwood service would run the length of the Promenade from Starr Gate. A Fleetwood-bound tram passes Pleasant Street.

It can rain a lot in Blackpool. The cream building on the left is the Claremont Hotel. In the distance is Blackpool's famous tower. It looks quite near, but in fact it's over a kilometre away.

Pleasant Street Tram Stop, Blackpool
Tram 013 leaving on a service to Fleetwood Fisherman's Walk. From 31/1/2022 for up to eight weeks, trams were unable to run through to Fleetwood Ferry, because of road works on Lord Street.

Claremont Hotel, North Promenade, Blackpool
The promenade was access only from here due to roadworks outside Daish's Hotel Image, about 200 metres further south. Despite the diversion sign taking drivers up on to Dickson Road, some chose to ignore it and bypassed the roadworks by driving on to the tramway!
