Level Crossing and Abbey Craig
The crags of Abbey Craig (the hill with the Wallace Monument on it) overlook an optimistic scene. The railway is a building site with safety posters and that familiar safety fencing. It's being restored for passenger use between Stirling and Alloa. A small fightback against Dr Beeching. ----- The reopening of the railway led to the closure of this crossing. Now a new road has been built from Ladysneuk Road, meaning that only one crossing is required for Cambuskenneth and Broom.

Site of former level crossing
Access to Broom Farm is now diverted further along the main road. Though not very clear through the fence, the reinstated railway runs just the other side of the fence.

Abbey Craig
Crags on the hill that carries Stirling's favourite eyesore - the statue of Wallace. (The monument is a bit of a blot on the landscape too mind). The loose rock of these crags is prone to fall on the road below, which is protected by netting, barriers and a ban on climbing.
