The Paterson Memorial
A clock and drinking fountain on Henderson Street, erected in 1898 in memory of Dr Alexander Paterson. A plaque on the side Image reads: -THE PATERSON MEMORIAL- ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF BRIDGE OF ALLAN AND OTHERS, IN MEMORY OF THE LATE DR ALEXANDER PATERSON, WHO PRACTISED IN THIS DISTRICT FOR UPWARDS OF 50 YEARS, AND WHO WAS MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH FOR THE BURGH. HE WAS HELD IN UNIVERSAL ESTEEM, BEING A SKILFUL PHYSICIAN AND A KIND FRIEND. -1898- It is Category C listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB22640.

Provost's lamp
Now set in Provost's Park, the Provost's lamp was originally placed outside the house of the Provost of Bridge of Allan during his term of office. Provost lamps are special decorative street lights found in some Scottish towns, used to denote the residence of the Provost, a local official equivalent to a mayor.
