House in Main Street, Doune
No 43 Main Street, at the corner of Moray Street. Traditional style with a new paint job.
I stayed in this, my grandparents house, several years ago. I distinctly remember being woken up at various times of night and early morning with the clock bell chiming and the noise of the quarry lorries rumbling by!

Former pistol factory
This building, accessed through a wrought iron gate from Main Street, is believed to have been the pistol factory of the renowned Thomas Caddell. He started making all metal guns in Doune in 1645.
The building, which is Category C listed, was restored in 1983. There is a blue plaque Image on the wall.
