The line is not in regular use but there is occasional talk of opening a passenger service from Alloa to Dunfermline.

Forth Landscapes : Under The Wires Near Kilbagie
Although we are nearer to the site of the former Kincardine power station, these transmission lines have come from Longannet power station and have taken a detour around the back of the town of Kincardine. In this view the pylons march away across the flat river plain to cross the River Forth near Alloa.
