Clackmannan Tollbooth & Clock Tower
The tollbooth was built in 1592 and originally comprised a prison, court room and jailer's house. The Stone of Mannan (Clach - Clack in Gaelic means stone) is adjacent to the tollbooth set atop a monolith. Who Mannan was is obscure.

Tombstones in Clackmannan Kirkyard
I've rarely seen so many finely carved tombstones in one place, as here in the old kirkyard at Clackmannan. I imagine they're a sign of the local community's wealth in the past, based on good agricultural land or the skills of the local stonemasons or both. Most date from the 18th century, but are not always in their original positions.
