The absence of a comma lends an interesting alternative interpretation to this notice on a barber's shop on Brunswick Place. Chance gentlemen are presumably welcome on other days, although they may be ejected, half-shaven, at 5 (or 3 on Saturdays). Best make a booking to stay safely within the time parameters.

Dawlish Police Station
The Dawlish Police Station/ Shop is in Brunswick Place opposite the band stand in the park. It is not continually manned and displays a sign saying "Police Officers out on patrol"

The barber shop is grade II listed (list entry 1164186 where it is described as a bookshop, but that was in 1985). Beyond the barbers is the Brunswick Arms pub, also grade II listed.
