Hen Street Bradninch
Bradninch, meaning broad or spreading ash, was originally a Celtic settlement dependent on the fresh spring water flowing near Hen Street. Today the spring flows down the side of the street under the green grass next to the parked cars. The word Hen here does not mean a chicken but is Celtic for "old".
