These are very close to the former railway station, which is approached by a road to the right of the white house in the distance; presumably these were built to be close to the transport link

Broad Clyst station (remains), 1998
View NE, towards Salisbury: ex-LSWR London - Salisbury - Exeter etc. main line. The station was closed 7/3/66 but the line remains very much in use, albeit much of it reduced to single line. (Cf. Image])

Broad Clyst Station
View eastward in 1964, towards Sidmouth Junction, Salisbury and London; ex-London & South Western London etc. - Salisbury - Exeter main line. This station was closed 7/3/66, when the main line was demoted in the 60's albeit partially restored more recently.
